At Affordable Avian, we are committed to transparency. Below is a full breakdown of our pricing, kit contents, and policies to ensure every customer understands what they are receiving.

What You Pay For

• Laboratory Testing Service:

  • The payment you make covers professional laboratory testing of your sample.

  • This includes processing, analysis, and reporting of results.
    

• Sampling Kit: If you elect to have us ship you a collection kit:

  • The kit itself is provided free of charge as a tool to help you collect and mail your sample. You pay only for shipping of the free kit and return shipping to our lab.

    If you wish to DIY the sample collection with supplies from your own home:

  • You will need to sign in to the website and click the link on the product listing to download and print collection documents and materials.

  • You will be responsible for packaging and shipping samples to our lab for testing.

Every Affordable Avian kit is carefully prepared and tracked. A standard gender feather kit includes:

• Collection tweezers- 1

• Sample collection baggie(s)

• Alcohol swab(s)

• Nitrile gloves- 1 pair

• Return mailing envelope and label

Pricing Transparency

• Gender Testing Fee: $15 per sample most species. $30 for ratites.

• Shipping: Standard shipping is included. Expedited shipping may incur additional cost.

• No Hidden Fees: You will never be charged for the kit itself. If you require extra materials- please let us know at time of order. We will advise you of any additional cost for supplemental kit supplies.
  

Refund Policy

• Because the fee covers laboratory testing services, refunds cannot be issued once a kit has been shipped.

• We maintain detailed records of every kit prepared and mailed to ensure accuracy.
