Avian Mycoplasmosis PCR Test (MG/MS Detection)

The cost listed here is PER sample to be tested. Please purchase the number of tests equivalent to the number of birds you would like to have tested. 
 
Species supported: Chickens, turkeys, pigeons, game birds, parrots, and finches
Ratites are also affected- though instances are rare.
 
This DNA test detects Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) — two of the most common and contagious respiratory pathogens in birds. Both organisms can spread rapidly through flocks and remain latent in carriers, making early detection essential for biosecurity.
 
What it detects:
Active infection with MG (eye swelling, nasal discharge, respiratory signs)
Active or subclinical MS infection (lameness, synovitis, joint swelling)
Ideal for both symptomatic birds and flock screening
 
Sample Types Accepted:
Dried blood spots
Dried oral or choanal swabs
Fresh tracheal or cloacal swabs (overnight shipping recommended)

 High-sensitivity multiplex PCR targeting MG and MS in a single test
 Results within 48 busness hours of sample arrival
 
Recommended for:
Birds with respiratory signs, joint swelling, or decreased egg production
New flock introductions, rescue birds, or birds returning from shows
Regular screening in breeding and aviary programs
