What is PiCV?
Pigeon Circovirus (PiCV) is one of the most widespread and damaging viruses affecting pigeons globally. It primarily targets the immune system, weakening a bird’s defenses and making it more susceptible to other diseases. Often asymptomatic in carriers, PiCV is a major contributor to Young Pigeon Disease Syndrome (YPDS) — a condition associated with diarrhea, lethargy, crop stasis, and weight loss in juvenile birds.
