Carriers: Many adults carry it without showing signs
High prevalence in lofts and aviaries
š¦ Salmonella (broad screen)
A bacterial infection that can be chronic, acute, or silent. We screen for all major salmonella strains.
Transmission: Fecal-oral, egg transmission, contaminated surfaces
Symptoms: Diarrhea, joint swelling, nervous signs, death in squabs
Carrier state: Birds may appear healthy while shedding bacteria
Zoonotic: Yes ā can infect humans
šµ ENHANCED PANEL(Separately, $22 each)
Includes everything in the Basic Panel, plus five additional high-risk pathogens:
š¦ Pigeon Adenovirus (Type I & II)
Often part of Young Bird Disease Syndrome (YBDS).

Type II: Can affect adults ā sudden death, liver damage
Co-infections with circovirus or E. coli are common
š¦ Chlamydia psittaci (Psittacosis)
A zoonotic bacterial disease that affects pigeons and people.
Transmission: Inhalation of dried droppings or feather dust
Symptoms in birds: Conjunctivitis, respiratory distress, green droppings
Zoonotic: Yes ā can cause pneumonia or flu-like illness in humans
š¦ Pigeon Herpesvirus (PiHV)
A latent virus that flares under stress or co-infection.
Symptoms: Weight loss, diarrhea, weakness, respiratory issues
Co-infections: Often seen alongside circovirus, trichomonas, and E. coli
Can be subclinical, especially in adult carriers
š¦ Avian Polyomavirus (APV)
A deadly virus in squabs and immunosuppressed birds.
Symptoms: Depression, crop stasis, failure to thrive, death
Transmission: Feather dust, feces, direct contact
Species: Also affects parrots, making it critical in mixed aviaries
